Beersheba Sign

A sign I designed for the entrance to the Beer-sheba mission project in Senegal. An uncle of mine is very involved with the project, a agricultural and bible school for future community leaders from Senegal and surrounding countries, and I visited it during the winter of 2015/16. The sign features recognizable profiles of both grain and livestock, which are grown (along with other crops) and kept on the site, respectively. The flowing river (in white) and well-leafed tree represent the healthy growth of the project, and the clear rays of sun God's light, under which it was undertaken. Besides the basic black and white colors for contrast, the rest of the sign is painted in red, yellow, and green, colors featured prominently in African flags, including that of Senegal itself. The final sign was painted on the inside of a large flat skillet pan, the rim of which was painted black and adorned with four small Senegalese flags.
